Sunrisers Hyderabad batsmen Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen performed such explosive batting against Mumbai Indians in which many interesting records of not only IPL but also international T20 cricket were destroyed. Hyderabad made the biggest score in IPL history against Mumbai and was successful in winning this match. Head, Abhishek, and Klaasen scored half-centuries for Hyderabad and set a target like a mountain in front of Mumbai, which the batsmen of the five-time champion team could not achieve despite all their efforts. Many records were made in this match and some interesting statistics were seen. Let us know which records Hyderabad made against Mumbai.

Scored the third highest score in T20

Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 277 runs for three wickets against Mumbai, which is the highest score in IPL history. But this has also become the third-highest score in T20. The record of making the highest score in T20 is currently in the name of Nepal which had scored 314 runs for three wickets against Mongolia. Apart from this, in 2019, Afghanistan scored 278 runs against Ireland in a match played in Dehradun. This is the second score of T20 and the highest score in this format in India. Hyderabad's score against Mumbai is the second-highest score in T20 in India.

Abhishek and Head created history

A unique achievement has also been registered in the names of Abhishek and Travis Head of Hyderabad. Before the match against Mumbai, no batsman of this team could ever complete a half-century in less than 20 balls, but first Head and then Abhishek achieved this feat in the same match. Abhishek and Head are the first batsmen in IPL history to score half-centuries in less than 20 balls while playing for the same team.

Hyderabad holds the record of scoring the most runs in the first 10 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had adopted a harsh attitude against Mumbai from the very beginning. Sunrisers' innings were so fast that the team scored 148 runs in the first 10 overs. This is the highest score made by any team in so many overs in IPL. Earlier, Punjab Kings had scored 131 runs in the first 10 overs in 2014 and Mumbai Indians in 2021.

200 runs were scored before the completion of 15 overs

Hyderabad had crossed the 200 mark against Mumbai in just 14.4 overs. This is the second fastest double century in IPL history. Before Hyderabad, in 2016, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had crossed the 200-run mark the fastest in 14.1 overs.

Unwanted record attached to Mafaka's name

During this period, an unwanted record was added to the name of Mumbai Indians bowler Quena Mafaka. In this match, Mafaka gave away 66 runs in four overs and failed to take a single wicket. This was the third most expensive spell in IPL history. Mafaka made his debut in this match and became the bowler who bowled the most expensive spell in his first match.

Hyderabad hit the most sixes

Sunrisers Hyderabad hit a total of 18 sixes in their innings against Mumbai. Before this, the Hyderabad team had not hit so many sixes in an innings against anyone. Earlier, Hyderabad's record of hitting most sixes in an inning was against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Hyderabad had hit 15 sixes against KKR.

The total score crossed 500 for the first time in the IPL

Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, scored 277 runs in 20 overs. In response, Mumbai scored 246 runs in 20 overs. Maximum runs were scored in both innings in the eighth match of the IPL. If the runs of both the innings are added, the total was 523 runs. This was the first time in IPL history that the total crossed 500.
