Chhath, the great festival of folk faith, is starting today (5 November). Starting with Nahai-Khai, this festival will end on 8 November by offering morning Arghya. This puja has a lot of importance. Many people still know its importance very little. Rajesh Pathak, the chief priest of the Dev Surya Mandir built by Lord Vishwakarma in the Treta period, located in the city of Lord Bhaskar in Aurangabad, Bihar, has told an important thing about this.

Talking about the importance of Chhath Puja, mythological belief, and celebrating Chhath Mahaparva on the land of Bihar, the chief priest said, "Chhath Puja is the first such Mahaparva, especially for the people of Bihar, in which all people worship Lord Surya. Lord Surya is considered to be the owner of the entire body of a human being, so Lord Surya is worshipped on this special festival. For those humans who want the welfare of their body, they do Chhath Mahavrat. Along with this, many kinds of desired fruits are attained by observing Chhath fast.''

'This fast gives special fruits'

The chief priest further said, ''All the devotees who want children, this fast gives them special fruits. Apart from this, everyone's wishes are fulfilled in this great festival. On this day, Lord Surya is worshipped, so Chhath Mahaparva is considered very special.''

Chhath Puja started in Bihar.

Talking about the importance of Chhath in the land of Bihar, the chief priest said, ''Chhath festival is celebrated all over the world but it started in Bihar. It is believed that Chhath was started from Dev Surya Mandir of Bihar. This great festival is celebrated with great pomp in Bihar. Seeing this faith of the people of Bihar, people from outside also started doing it.''

There is no other fast as difficult as this.

Let us tell you that this festival lasts for four days. This great festival is starting from 5th November with Nahai-Khai. It will be concluded on 8th November by offering Arghya to Lord Surya in the morning. The 36-hour Nirjala fast makes it special. The chief priest said that there is no other fast as difficult as this. He said that after the 36-hour Nirjala fast, the fast is broken by offering Arghya to Lord Surya. In this, first, the Lord's Prasad is taken. Only after this, pure vegetarian food prepared at home is taken.
