Shreyas Iyer continued his brilliant performance as captain and with the bat. Punjab Kings won their second consecutive win in IPL 2025. The Punjab team easily defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by eight wickets in Lucknow on 1 April.

In this match, the Punjab team was at the top of its game and stopped the Lucknow team at 171 runs. Earlier, Prabhsimran Singh, Nehal Wadhera and captain Iyer performed so well with the bat that Punjab Kings achieved the target in just 16.2 overs.

PBKS Vs LSG: Shreyas Iyer broke MS Dhoni's big record

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) team has reached the second position in the points table by winning two consecutive matches in IPL 2025. In the match played against Lucknow, Shreyas Iyer (Shreyas Iyer PBKS Captain) achieved a big record as captain in IPL.

This was Iyer's 8th consecutive win as a captain in the IPL, including 6 for KKR last year and two for Punjab in the current season. Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer broke MS Dhoni's record and equaled Shane Warne's record.

Let us tell you that MS Dhoni led CSK to 7 consecutive wins in an IPL season as a captain. The CSK team has their best seven wins in 2013 under Dhoni's captaincy.

Interestingly, on all three occasions (2013, 2014, and 2019), CSK under Dhoni's leadership did not win the title despite having five trophies to their name. Former KKR captain Gautam Gambhir tops the list with 10 consecutive wins in 2014-15 and also won a title during that period.
