Actually, according to the Indian Railways, there is a fixed limit for carrying goods for each class, which is between 40 kg to 70 kg. If a passenger wants to carry more luggage with him, then he will have to pay a separate amount for it.

 

You can take luggage up to 40 kg in the sleeper coach on the train. Also, you can carry up to 50 kg of luggage in AC-Tier class, while in First Class you can carry up to 70 kg of luggage with you during the journey.
