
ISRO AzaadiSat Update: To mark the 75th anniversary of independence, AzadiSat, which is being prepared in a series of events for the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, is set to reach its orbit from ISRO's SSLV next week.
The satellite was built by 750 girl students from 75 schools across the country. AzadiSat is set for launch on the maiden flight of ISRO's Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) early next month.

The eight-kg satellite has 75 Femto experiments, selfie cameras that will click pictures of their solar panels, and long-range communication transponders. The project, a six-month mission of ISRO, is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (InSpace) said in a tweet that 750 girl students from 75 schools across the country are looking forward to the maiden launch of India's latest launch vehicle, SSLV, as it takes on its co-passenger. Women will be promoted in the field of space and science
Rifat Sharooq, Chief Technology Officer, Space Kids India said that this initiative has been taken to increase the interest of girl students in space science and STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), etc. So that girls and women are encouraged to come forward in the field of space science. He said that this is the first space mission of its kind with the concept of all women as the theme of this year's United Nations is 'Women in Space'.
The satellite will be sent through SSLV
ISRO i.e. Indian Space Research Organization has developed SSLV to put into low earth orbit weighing less than 500 kg, which is in high demand for applications like earth observation and providing internet connectivity in remote areas. The primary payload of the SSLV's maiden demonstration flight is the Earth observation satellite Microsat 2A. According to ISRO, an SSLV rocket can be manufactured within a week to meet the demands of the growing space sector.
