In Tokyo, India won 19 medals and the country finished 24th in the medal tally, while in Paris India finished 18th. This time India had landed in Paris with a target of crossing 25 and achieved it.
This time India sent the largest contingent of 84 players to Paris. Since returning to the country, the Paralympians have been honored by the government. Sports Minister Mandaviya has given Rs 75 lakh to the gold medal winners, Rs 50 lakh to the silver winners, and Rs 30 lakh to the athletes who won bronze medals in the Games. Those who excelled in mixed team events were honored with Rs 22.5 lakh. These include archer Sheetal Devi, who won a bronze medal with Rakesh Kumar.
