Kisan Andolan: Farmers march to Delhi today, huge rally in Patiala; Warning of agitation if demands are not met

The main factions of the United Kisan Morcha, BKU Ugrahan, Krantikari Kisan Union, and BKU Dakaunda (Dhaner) held a massive rally at Pudda Ground in Patiala on Tuesday. On this occasion, farmers gathered in large numbers to raise slogans against the Central Government and appealed to immediately fulfill all the other demands including the legal guarantee of MSP. A warning was given to intensify the agitation if the demands were not met.

 

On the other hand, farmer leader Tejveer Singh said that today i.e. on March 6, farmers from all over India will march peacefully towards Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Farmers from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Bihar have made complete preparations to go to Delhi in March. Let us tell you that according to the announcement of the farmers, farmers from other states except Punjab and Haryana will march to Delhi peacefully on March 6.

 

Farmer leaders Avtar Singh Kaurjiwala, and Davinder Singh Punia said that on February 21, the Haryana Police administration had unconstitutionally released tear gas shells and even fired bullets at the farmers who were moving peacefully on the Shambhu and Khanauri borders. This is extremely shameful and unbearable and it has also been mentioned in the notice taken by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

 

Farmer leader Dr. Darshan Pal Singh said that the demands of the farmers accepted by the Central Government should be implemented immediately. These include legal guarantee and purchase of MSP, debt relief for farmers and laborers, giving strict punishment to the accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, and withdrawal of cases registered against farmers. From the stage of the rally, the United Kisan Morcha announced that a large number of farmers would participate in the Mahapanchayat to be held at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on March 14. On this occasion, farmers took out a protest in the form of a procession from Tripadi market to the DC office.
