Shiv Sena is continuously attacking stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra. Angered by the 'traitor' statement, Shiv Sena claimed that BookMyShow has removed Kunal Kamra's name from the list of artists and ticketing platform. The Shiv Sena leader has thanked the CEO of the online ticket sales platform for this.
Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena's social media in-charge Rahul Kanal, in a letter to BookMyShow CEO Ashish Hemrajani, said that I express my gratitude for the continued support given to your team. Thank you for removing Kunal Kamra from the sales and promotion list and the BookMyShow search history as well. Your belief in maintaining peace and respecting our sentiments has been important. He said that Mumbaikars love and believe in all forms of art, but not in personal agenda.
Kanal said that your personal engagement and guidance of your team were invaluable in reaching a solution. We appreciate your commitment to the values of BookMyShow. Your vision and leadership are truly inspiring. Thank you for giving us your team and getting it approved as soon as possible. However, BookMyShow has not issued any statement in this matter.
What is the whole matter?
Recently Kunal Kamra had commented on a veteran leader of Maharashtra without naming him and called him a traitor through a song. Shiv Sena supporters did not like this. After this, Shiv Sena workers vandalized the studio hosting the program. Separate FIRs are also registered against Kamra in other police stations of Mumbai Eknath and Shinde's political stronghold Thane. Mumbai Police had issued three notices to Kamra asking him to appear personally, but he is not responding to any notice.
