
new Delhi. Today is the 46th day of lockdown in the country due to Corona epidemic. The order to stop work in lockdown, labor shortage and liquidity problem has become a big concern for the industry. In such a situation, the industry has now submitted a long list of demands to the government. In a meeting with Union Minister of Labor and Employment Santosh Gangwar, 12 employer groups linked to the industry have demanded to limit the work to 12 hours and to suspend the labor law for 2-3 years.
The meeting was convened in view of the problem of lockdown and the challenge of reviving the economy thereafter. In the meeting, most of the representatives of the employer groups demanded to increase the working time. He said that the working deadline should be 12 hours daily to compensate for the loss in lockdown. It has also been advised to cut social security expenses both from employer and employee.
Demand for relaxation in industrial dispute law
Not only this, the industry has also demanded the government to relax the Industrial Disputes Act. He suggests that the period of lockdown should be considered as Lay Off, relaxing this law. By doing this, the liabilities of the industry towards the workers and workers will be differentiated.
These are the major demands of the industry: -
>> Workers' working hours should be 12 to 8.
>> Let the industry announce a package to get out of this crisis.
>> The salary paid to the employees should also be brought under the CSR i.e. Corporate Social Responsibility of the companies. Companies will get this benefit in the form of tax exemption.
>> Provide electricity at a cheaper rate.
>> Industry has suggested to make container and non-container zones instead of making red, orange and green zones.
>> The industry said that all economic activities should be started in non-container areas.

The meeting was attended by 12 organizations including FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM, PhD Chambers of Commerce and Small Industries Bharti, the largest industry body.
