On the very first day of the Parliament session, Congress and other opposition parties expressed their anger over the incident in Manipur. However, before the commencement of the session, PM Modi stated the incident in Manipur. He said, my heart is full of pain today, full of anger. Manipur incident is a shameful incident for any civilized society. How many and who are the sinners, this has its place. This insult is happening to the whole country. 140 crore Indians have been put to shame. At the time when PM Modi said this, 12 hours before that the tweets of the two leaders were very much discussed. One of these tweets was done by Rahul Gandhi, while the other was done by his sister Priyanka Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi said in his tweet, the PM's silence and inaction have pushed Manipur towards anarchy. When the idea of India is being attacked in Manipur, India will not remain silent. We stand with the people of Manipur. Peace is the only way forward. Shortly before this, his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi had also made a tweet. He wrote pictures of harrasment violence against women coming from Manipur are heart-wrenching. The amount of condemnation of this horrific incident of violence against women is less. Women and children have to bear the maximum brunt of violence in society. We must all condemn the violence in one voice while furthering the efforts for peace in Manipur. Why is the Central Government, the Prime Minister sitting blind to the violent incidents in Manipur? Do such pictures and violent incidents not disturb them?
Prime Minister Modi said I tell all the Chief Ministers to strengthen law and order. Take strict steps to protect mothers and sisters. In this country, rising above political debate in any corner of India or any state government, law and order, and respect for sisters is the priority. No culprit will be spared. What happened to the daughters of Manipur can never be forgiven.
Earlier, Congress Party President Mallikarjun Kharge wrote in his tweet on Thursday, the Center and the BJP have turned democracy and the rule of law into mobocracy. Humanity is dead in Manipur. The Modi government and the BJP have converted democracy and the rule of law into mobocracy by destroying the delicate social fabric of the state. Narendra Modi ji, India will never forgive your silence. If you have any sense of shame left in your government, you should speak about Manipur in Parliament. The country should tell what happened, without blaming others for its double incompetence, both at the Center and in the states. You have abdicated your constitutional responsibility. In this hour of crisis, we stand with the people of Manipur.
