
New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS) A galaxy of personalities from various fields including politics, business and art attended the banquet hosted by President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhawan Sunday in the honour of visiting US President Barack Obama.
Mukherjee, Obama and his wife Michele met the invitees which included former prime minster Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP leader L. K. Advani, who was Sunday conferred the Padma Vibhushan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first to greet Obama and his wife. Ministers in the Modi cabinet were also present.
Obama had a word with many of guests. One of them wrapped a shawl around his shoulders. He spent some time speaking to union Power Minister Piyush Goyal, who is the minister-in-waiting to him.
Michelle, who was wearing a voluminous dress with floral prints and three-fourth sleeves, also exchanged pleasantries with the guests.
Business leaders including Ratan Tata and Mukesh Ambani were among those present.
