Many prisoners were publicly hanged in Russia: It was forbidden to fire on Ukrainian soldiers in the war

Russia's attacks on Ukraine continued for the 322nd day. Meanwhile, in Russia, prisoners who refused to open fire on Ukrainian forces were publicly hanged. Some prisoners said they were sent to the front to fight against the Ukrainian military alongside the pro-Russia Wagner Group, the Daily Beast reported. Some of them refused to open fire on Ukrainian soldiers. After this, they were caught on the charges of disobedience and taken to deserted areas, and killed.

 

Prisoners were killed for disobeying orders

According to the report, Yevgeny Novikov, a former prisoner recruited by Wagner, said, “Those who do not obey orders are put to death in public. Refuse, Russia has made a separate squadron to deal with them. Alexander Drozdov, another prisoner in the report, said that many of the Russian prisoners sent by Wagner to the front lines in Ukraine were drug addicts and lunatics.” They refuse to obey orders. The work made by their attitude gets spoiled.

 

Putin gave the command to the highest officer of the army

Putin has changed the commander for his invasion of Ukraine. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu named Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov as the new commander for the operation in Ukraine. Valery Russo is the highest-ranking officer general of the Russian Army. He is the Chief of General Staff. He is in this position since 2012. He will replace Sergei Surovikin.
