The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to appoint its legendary batsman Mohammad Yousuf as the permanent batting coach of the Pakistan cricket team. Sources say that this decision comes after the release of Mohammad Yousuf from the post of batting coach at the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) in Lahore. In such a situation, it is clear that Mohammad Yousuf will soon be seen permanently with the Pakistan team.
The post of new batting coach in NHPC will be announced soon. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet confirmed this. The national cricket governing body has appointed former Australian batsman Matthew Hayden as batting consultant for the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year, but he will not continue to work with the Pakistani team.
According to Pakistani media, sources said that he was made the temporary batting coach of the Pakistan team at the request of head coach Saqlain Mushtaq in the home series against Australia. Yusuf is currently with the Pakistan Test team in Sri Lanka, where the Pakistan team won over the hosts in the first match of the two-match Test series in Galle.
