Abu Dhabi: '10 agreements signed between India and UAE under the leadership of PM Modi', Foreign Secretary Kwatra gave details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting the United Arab Emirates on a two-day visit. Today he will inaugurate the first Hindu temple of Abu Dhabi. Regarding his visit, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra said that the PM reached Abu Dhabi on Tuesday afternoon.

Vinay Mohan Kwatra said, 'The Prime Minister arrived in Abu Dhabi yesterday afternoon on his seventh visit to this country. UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received him and also formally welcomed him at the airport. The leaders then held detailed delegation-level and one-to-one talks, covering all aspects of bilateral engagement between India and the UAE as well as important developments at the regional and global levels.'

The Foreign Secretary further said, 'During this period, PM Modi also saw the transactions done using Jeevan Card. The Prime Minister congratulated the President on the launch of the Domestic Life Card. Let us tell you, this card is another important step in the financial sector cooperation between India and UAE. Also, 10 MOU agreements were signed.

He said, 'The Ahlan Modi program was organized at Zayed Sports Stadium yesterday evening. During this, the PM addressed the Indian community. The event was attended by over 40,000 people and in his address, the Prime Minister thanked the President of the UAE for his commitment to bilateral relations, his support to the Indian community, and for granting the land for the construction of the BAPS Temple.'

 

Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra further said that the India-Middle East Economic Corridor (IMEC) was launched during the G20 summit in New Delhi. This agreement will work to promote cooperation between the two countries. It will also be seen how cooperation will be increased in a particular area.
