The Supreme Court set aside the Kerala High Court order granting anticipatory bail to the four accused in the scientist Nambi Narayanan case. Narayanan was falsely implicated in the ISRO spying case in 1994.

Along with rejecting the anticipatory bail, the Supreme Court directed the Kerala High Court to consider afresh the anticipatory bail granted to the accused within four weeks. It also said that the accused should not be arrested for five weeks.

Supreme Court Justice MR Shah's bench rejected the Kerala High Court's decision. The CBI had filed a petition in the apex court against the bail order of the High Court. The CBI had challenged the anticipatory bail granted to four accused, including former Kerala DGP Sibi Mathews.
