National Youth Day 2024: India is a young country. Today is National Youth Day. National Youth Day is celebrated every year on 12 January in the country. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Along with this, work is also done to disseminate the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda among the youth, so that the feeling of patriotism can be awakened in them.

What is National Youth Day? History

The Government of India declared National Youth Day to be celebrated on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in 1984. From the next year i.e. 1985, National Youth Day started being celebrated on 12th January every year across the country. Its objective is to spread the thoughts and ideals of Swami Vivekananda to every youth. The words of Swami Vivekananda have a deep impact on the youth. Swami Vivekananda played an important role in the revival of Hinduism not only in India but also in the Western world.
