It is cold in North India. There is fog in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana. The view is such that it is difficult to understand where the earth is ending and where the sky is beginning. Like the sky has come down to the earth. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be severe cold and cold waves in the northern states for the coming several days. These states include Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

The outbreak of cold waves will continue till January 20

Due to the heavy snowfall on the mountains, it has been cold for a week. The sun is not coming out during the day. Due to this people are forced to stay in their homes. On Sunday, the situation of severe cold-day and cold-day became in most of the districts of Haryana. The Meteorological Department has said that the outbreak of cold waves with dense fog will continue in Delhi till January 20. Dense fog is expected over the northwestern part of the country till January 19.

Cold wave with fog will continue in Delhi-NCR for the next 3 days

According to the Meteorological Department, with the fall in the temperature, winter will also increase further. Cold waves will continue in Delhi from January 17 to January 20 with dense fog, due to which there will be no sunshine even during the day and people will have to face the excruciating cold.

On Sunday, the minimum temperature was recorded at two Celsius 6 degrees above normal and the maximum temperature was 14 degrees. Earlier on Saturday, the minimum temperature was reduced to 6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was reduced to 15 degrees Celsius.

On Tuesday, the minimum and maximum temperatures may increase by 1 to 2 degrees, but this is not expected to bring relief from the cold.

Visibility reduced to 50 meters in Rajasthan

Half of Rajasthan is in the grip of dense fog. Nothing is visible more than 50 meters away because of the mist. The Meteorological Department says that after five years, visibility in Rajasthan has reduced to 50 meters. Earlier on January 14, 2016, the visibility was recorded at 50 meters. Such conditions have arisen due to the active western disturbance of low intensity in the state. Due to the cold wave, the bitter cold is not taking its name. Although the weather is expected to change after 4-5 days, then there can be relief from the chill.

Night mercury below 10 in MP

In the cities of Madhya Pradesh, the night temperature came down to below 10 degrees. This is the first time in the season when the minimum temperature in most cities of the state has come down to one digit (ie less than 10). The mercury remained 10 degrees only in Hoshangabad and Satna. The rest of the place below it. Fog and cloudy for two days. Meteorologist PK Saha said that the weather will remain like this for the next 24 hours.

The cold will continue for the next two days from Kashmir to Kanyakumari

The Meteorological Department has said that the Himalayan region will be affected by a Western Disturbance from January 18, after which the next Western Disturbance will affect North India from January 21. Very dense fog at night and early morning are very likely over Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.

In South India, there is a possibility of rain in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh on Monday and in Kerala for the next two days. In the northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may receive rain on January 19 and 20.

Minimum temperatures above normal at some places in Kashmir Valley

There has been some respite from the severe cold wave conditions in Kashmir. The minimum temperature has improved by several degrees. Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius, down from minus 4.5 degrees Celsius the previous night, officials said. Gulmarg in north Kashmir's Baramulla district recorded a minimum temperature of minus 7 degrees Celsius, 2.5 degrees higher than the previous night.

154 roads closed in Himachal, then snowfall possible

154 roads are still closed due to heavy snowfall in Himachal. A western disturbance knocked on Sunday. Most of the areas were covered with thick clouds. For the next four days, a warning of snowfall in the high altitude areas and rain in the plains has been issued.

Difference between severe cold day and cold day

If the night temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius and the day temperature is 4.5 to 6.4 degrees below normal, then it is a cold day.

If the day temperature is at least 6.5 degrees below normal and the night temperature is below 10 degrees, then there will be a severely cold day.
