Traffic remained sluggish on Tuesday i.e. today also due to the farmers' protest on the Delhi-Noida border. During this march which started on Monday (2 December), the movement of vehicles on busy routes like Mahamaya Flyover and Chilla Border was affected. Let us tell you that due to the barricades and security arrangements put up by the police, the passengers had to face a lot of trouble.

According to the information, this demonstration is being done under the leadership of Bharatiya Kisan Parishad (BKP) to demand proper compensation and allotment of farmers' land. Hundreds of farmers from 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh like Aligarh and Agra participated in the demonstration. Carrying banners and flags in their hands, the farmers crossed the barricades put up by the police.

Clash of protesters with police

It is being told that the protesting farmers were stopped near Dalit Prerna Sthal on Noida Link Road, which is about a kilometer away from Chilla Border. There was also a mild clash between the police and the protesters. Senior police officers tried to pacify the protesters and prevented them from moving forward.

Passengers faced a lot of trouble due to the protest.

Due to the protest, there was a traffic jam on routes like Chilla Border, DND Flyway, and Kalindi Kunj. Greater Noida resident Aparajita Singh said, "It took more than an hour due to barricading at Chilla Border. There was a huge traffic jam due to barricades on both sides of Delhi-Noida."

Passengers resorted to the metro

Many passengers resorted to the metro to avoid the jam. Noida resident Amit Thakur said, "After seeing the traffic update, I thought it better to travel by metro because I could have wasted an hour due to the jam at Chilla Border."

What is the plan of the farmers?

According to the information, another group of farmers from Punjab is planning to march towards Delhi on December 6. This group has been camping in the border areas of Punjab and Haryana since February. The United Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) are involved in this protest.
