The United Arab Emirates i.e. UAE government has taken a big decision to promote trade in the country. According to this, such government employees who want to start their own business will be able to take leave for one year. They will continue to get half the salary.
The concept was first introduced by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in July. Its purpose is that instead of residents of UAE, try their hand at the business of doing government jobs so that other people can get jobs in the country and the economy will benefit from it.
first such initiative in the world
'Khaleej Times' and UAE's government news agency said - No country in the world has taken such an initiative before. Sheikh Mohammed wants the UAE's young generation to take advantage of the government's commercial benefit schemes.
The government has made it clear that the employees who take one year's leave to start a business will continue to get half their salary during this period. The decision to give or not to give leave will be taken by the head of that department. Some conditions have also been fixed for this. One has to log in to a website to apply for leave. At present, only Central Government employees will be able to apply.
focus on self-employment
Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Acting Director of Government and Human Resources in the UAE Government, said – This is the future vision of our government. We want government employees to use these holidays for self-employment. Our leadership wants that the youth of UAE can also be ready for world entrepreneurship.
The UAE government has included finance, human resources, and other departments in this initiative and has created a common platform for it.
A gift was given in 2022 as well
The UAE government had given gifts to the employees at the beginning of 2022 as well. From January 1, 2022, the rule of working only four and a half days a week was implemented here. The rest two and a half days will be a holiday. The UAE government issued an official statement regarding this.
UAE is the first country in the world, where weekly working hours ie working days in a week have been reduced. Most countries of the world have five-day working week culture. The plan to implement the working calendar from January 1, 2022, was made so that there is no problem with its implementation. Based on the kind of rules that are in place for the employees in UAE, it is believed that soon the private sector of the country will also take similar steps.
On Friday, there will be half-day working ie half-day working. There will be a complete holiday on Saturday and Sunday. According to the order, if the employees want to work from home on Friday, then they will be allowed to do so. Employees in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are very happy with this announcement of government. From 1971 to 1999, there used to be 6 working days in the country. It has been changed to five days in 1999 and now to four and a half days.
