Before the elections in Punjab (Punjab Election 2022), a big conspiracy to smuggle RDX and bomb blasts has been busted by Pakistan through drones. In the Gurdaspur sector of Punjab, BSF has recovered a large quantity of bomb-making material including about 05 kg RDX and detonator.

According to the BSF, the sound of a drone was heard close to the barbed wire on the Pakistan border in the Panjgrain area of the Gurdaspur sector late on Wednesday night. Alert BSF jawans immediately fired on the drone, then the drone went back to the Pakistani border, but before that two packets were thrown in the fields close to the barbed wire. With the help of sniffer dogs, BSF jawans recovered both packets.

According to the BSF, initially, there was a suspicion of drugs in two yellow-colored packets. But in a packet, it looked like a pistol. This is the reason why BDS i.e. Bomb Disposal Squad was called on the spot early in the morning. Both the packets were opened in the presence of BDS.

The first packet contains about 2.5 kg (2.60 kg) of RDX explosive, two nylon ropes, a timer, three electric detonators, polarized cells, three steel containers, ball bearings for the splinter, a wooden frame, and a packing One lakh rupees were found including foam.

The second packet contains two kg (2.10 kg) RDX, one Chinese pistol, 13 pistol rounds, one-timer, commercial cortex, three electric detonators (one copper and two aluminum), three steel containers, two polarized cells, one packing foam, one Wooden frame, more than one kg of cycle ball was found.

Drones and UAVs are being used by Pakistan to smuggle arms, ammunition, and narcotics drugs along the border with Punjab.

Elections are to be held in Punjab on 20 February. In such a situation, the recovery of a large amount of RDX and bomb-making material just before the polling shows that Pakistan is trying to create disturbances before the elections at any cost. For some time now, Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI has been conspiring to once again give air to terrorist organizations like Sikh for Justice and Babbar Khalsa.
