Panaji, March 24 (IANS) Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, known to be a Narendra Modi confidant, Monday refused to comment on veteran BJP leader Jaswant Singh who filed his nomination papers as an Independent candidate.
"I am not a national leader. I cannot comment on it," Parrikar said.
Jaswant Singh, who was the union defence and external affairs minister in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, is the third among senior BJP leaders who have been at loggerheads with the party's prime ministerial candidate Modi over allocation of tickets.
Denied an opportunity to contest on a BJP ticket from Barmer, Jaswant Singh Monday filed his papers as an Independent candidate from Barmer constituency in Rajasthan.
Murli Manohar Joshi and L.K. Advani have also expressed unhappiness about the Lok Sabha seat allocated to them for contesting.
