PM Modi interacting with the players of the Tokyo Paralympic Games, Games will start on August 24

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is interacting with the 54-member Indian athletes team going to the Paralympics from August 24 to September 5, 2021, via video conferencing. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur was also present on the occasion. He said that the Prime Minister is present among us to boost the morale and guide the Paralympic players going to the Tokyo Olympics. On the instructions of the Prime Minister, the Sports Ministry made sure that all kinds of facilities could be provided to our players. Earlier on Monday, PM Modi had met the players of the Tokyo Olympics.

 

PM Modi met India's Olympic contingent for breakfast at his residence on Monday after applauding Indian players for their stellar performance at the Tokyo Olympics from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day. During this, he fed Neeraj Chopra his favorite churma, and also gave an ice cream party to PV Sindhu.

 

When the players left for the Olympics, the PM had promised Sindhu that when you return to India, you will be fed ice cream. At the same time, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had promised Neeraj Chopra that when he returns home, Prime Minister Modi will feed him churma.

 

It is known that Indian players won seven medals including one gold in Tokyo Olympics, which is India's best performance in Olympics so far. Neeraj Chopra won the yellow medal in the javelin throw. Sindhu won second position in the Olympics. The Prime Minister also spoke to the men's hockey team that won India a hockey medal in the Olympics after 41 years. Wrestler Ravi Dahiya won silver and Bajrang Punia won bronze in Tokyo Olympics. Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu started India's campaign by winning a silver medal on the very first day. Boxer Lovlina Borgohai won the bronze medal.
