Ahead of the IPL 2026 auction, the BCCI has suddenly made a major change... causing a stir among the franchises.

Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, which is scheduled for today, December 16, the BCCI has made a major change, leaving the 10 franchises surprised. The BCCI had initially finalized a list of 350 players for the auction, including 240 Indian and 110 foreign players, but later added 9 new players. Now, just one day before the auction, 10 more players have been added to the list.

 

 

BCCI makes this change before IPL 2026 Auction

The BCCI (BCCI IPL 2026 Auction Final List) added some new players to the final list before the auction. With this, the final list for the IPL 2026 auction now comprises a total of 369 players, including 253 Indian and 116 overseas players. However, a maximum of 77 players can be sold in the auction, with 31 slots reserved for foreign players.

 

 

According to a Cricbuzz report, apart from Abhimanyu Easwaran, who was overlooked by the Indian Test team, other members added to the new list include Mani Shankar Murasingh (TCA), Veerandeep Singh (Malaysia), Chama Milind (HYCA), KL Sreejith (KSCA), Ethan Bosch (South Africa), Chris Green (Australia), Swastik Chikara (UPCA), Rahul Raj Namla (CAU), Virat Singh (JSCA), Tripuresh Singh (MPCA), Kyle Verreynne (South Africa), Blessing Muzarabani (Zimbabwe), Ben Sears (New Zealand), Rajesh Mohanty (OCA), Swastik Samal (OCA), Saransh Jain (MPCA), Suraj Sangaraju (ACA), and Tanmay Agarwal (HYCA).

 

 

KKR has the most money in its purse

It is worth noting that the total spending limit for the IPL 2026 auction has been set at Rs 237.55 crore. The auction will be for 77 player slots across the 10 franchises. The KKR team entered the mini-auction with the biggest purse of Rs 64.3 crore. Meanwhile, the CSK team has Rs 43.4 crore in their purse and nine slots available. The upcoming season of the IPL is scheduled to be announced on March 26, and the final match will be played on May 31, 2026.

The IPL 2026 auction is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM in Abu Dhabi. It will be broadcast live on the Star Sports Network. Fans can also watch the live streaming on the JioHotstar app and website.
