Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated key infrastructure projects worth over ₹5,100 crore in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, on Monday. The ceremony was held at Indira Gandhi Park. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for two major hydroelectric projects in the Shi Yomi district and a convention center in Tawang. The Prime Minister described the northeastern states as "Ashtalakshmi" (eight-weight goddesses) for him.
He also stated that the central government's policies are for the all-round development and empowerment of these states. He highlighted the central government's achievements in comparison to the neglect of Arunachal Pradesh's development by previous governments over the past several years and said that the true results of good intentions are now visible.
Received Mother's blessings today in the lap of the Himalayas.
He further stated that when the countrymen gave him the opportunity to serve in 2014, he resolved to free the country from Congress-oriented thinking. Modi clarified that his inspiration comes not from the number of votes and seats in a state, but from the spirit of putting the nation first. He stated that national interest is the foundation of every decision he makes. Modi described his Arunachal visit as special for three reasons. First, he received the blessings of Goddess Shailputri by visiting this land nestled in the lap of the Himalayas on the auspicious occasion of Navratri.
Second, the next-gen GST reforms were implemented in the country, and the GST Savings Festival was launched, providing a double bonus to the public during the festive season. Third, several major projects were inaugurated in Arunachal Pradesh, which will accelerate the state's development. Modi said that from Tawang Monastery to Namsai, Arunachal is a wonderful confluence of peace and culture and the pride of Mother India.
Sikkim's Prime Minister spoke on Northeast politics.
At the event, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said that Prime Minister Modi never weighed the Northeast on the scales of politics. He always maintained that India would progress only when the Northeast progressed. Before 2014, the Northeast was known for negative reasons, but now it has become an engine of development and is contributing to the country's progress. Describing Arunachal Pradesh as the "Land of the Rising Sun," Modi said that every citizen here embodies bravery and peace. Just as saffron is the first color of the tricolor, Arunachal Pradesh's color also symbolizes bravery.
Discussed Promoting Swadeshi with Locals
In Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the impact of recent GST rate revisions with local traders, industrialists, and taxpayers. Prime Minister Modi stated that the recent GST rate revisions will have a positive impact on traders and industry. He assured traders that the government is taking their concerns seriously and is continuously striving to streamline economic activity.
A Message of Pride in Swadeshi

Shopkeepers expressed their joy and said they would promote indigenous products by displaying these posters in their shops. The Prime Minister celebrated this initiative, attempting to connect local traders and taxpayers with the national spirit.
Economic Empowerment and the Importance of Swadeshi
The Prime Minister emphasized that this step is essential towards 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. He encouraged traders to contribute to economic empowerment by using and promoting local products.
Traders said that while GST reforms will impact prices and sales, promoting indigenous products is possible to increase their sales. PM Modi emphasized the importance of traders' opinions and said that all suggestions will be incorporated into policy formulation.
