PM Narendra Modi: 'Economic development only through permanent government', the PM said - There will be no place for communalism in developed India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that economic development of the country is possible only with a stable government. India will be a developed nation by 2047 with no place for corruption, casteism, and communalism. PM Modi said that we Indians have a great opportunity to lay the foundation of development today, which will be remembered for the next thousands of years.

 

PM Modi, in an exclusive interview with a news agency, said, that for three decades before 2014, many unstable governments were formed in the country, which could not do much. But over the years, the people have given a decisive mandate to the BJP, which has resulted in a stable government, favorable policies, and clarity in the overall direction. Due to this many reforms could be implemented in the last nine years. These are the natural results of the political stability of the government.

Prime Minister Modi said, these reforms related to the economy, education, financial sector, banks, digitalization, welfare, inclusion, and social sector laid a strong foundation, which led to the economic growth of the country. He said the world is keeping an eye on India's development story. The GDP-centric view of the world is now changing to a human-centric view, with India playing the role of a catalyst.

 

Now the country is moving forward again

PM Modi said that India, which was one of the leading economies of the world for a long time in history, had gone backward due to colonialism. Now India is moving forward once again. India has jumped five places from 10th to 5th largest economy in less than a decade.

 

Inflation is a major issue facing the world

The Prime Minister said that inflation is a major issue that the world is facing. He said, our G-20 chairmanship included the group's finance ministers and governors of central banks. It was recognized that timely and clear communication of the policy stance from central banks is important. This can ensure that the policies adopted by each country to deal with inflation do not hurt other countries. He said that this convention will allow countries and jurisdictions to move forward with traditions and bring about major reforms in the international tax system.

 

Institutions are relevant only when they change.

The Prime Minister said, the world today is multi-polar. Here such a rule-based system is very important, which is fair and sensitive to all concerns. Institutions can remain relevant only when they adapt to the changing times. ... Our international institutions need to recognize the changing realities, expand decision-making forums, reconsider their priorities, and ensure the voices of all parties are represented. If action is not taken in this direction in time, small or regional forums start taking more important shape. In the nearly 80-minute interview, Modi said the G-20 has provided a platform for India to take forward its human-centered approach and collaborative work to address the challenges facing the entire humanity. Is.

 

There is a need to change the approach to deal with climate change

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly advocated a change of approach in the discussions on tackling climate change. He urged countries to make their approach constructive rather than restrictive and not focus on don't do this or don't do that. I am very positive about the future of the fight against climate change. We are working with other countries to move from a restrictive to a constructive approach. ... We want to bring a vision that awakens people and nations. It should be told what the nations can do and in this direction, they should be provided with the help of finance, technology, and other resources.

 

The first G-20 country to achieve the target nine years ago

We are probably the first G20 country to have achieved our climate targets nine years ahead of schedule, the Prime Minister said. India's action against single-use plastic has been recognized worldwide. Due to this, a lot of progress has also been made in the direction of ensuring cleanliness and hygiene. India has now moved beyond being a mere participant to playing a leading role in global initiatives. India is making great progress on climate-focused initiatives. It has increased its solar power capacity 20 times in just a few years. We are among the top four countries in the world in terms of wind energy. are playing a key role in both the adoption and innovation of electric vehicles.

 

Everyone should be represented in the United Nations

Making a strong pitch for reforms in the United Nations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that change in the international organization has become inevitable in line with the realities of the changing world. Mid-20th-century attitudes cannot continue in the 21st century. There should be such reforms in the United Nations that ensure the representation of all parties. He said G-20 is such an organization that is being seen as a place of hope. The world today wants action and results, regardless of where they are coming from. India's presidency of the G-20 has come at such an important juncture. In this context, India's position within the global framework has become particularly relevant. As a country of diversity, the mother of democracy, home to the largest population of youth, and the world's development engine, India has a lot to contribute to shaping the future of the world.

 

Africa is our top priority

Regarding the inclusion of African Union in G-20, the PM said, the theme of G-20 this time is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. During Corona, under this thinking, we showed a spirit of unity, not separation, and supplied medicines and vaccines to about 150 countries. We have thousands of years of cultural and commercial ties with Africa. One of the first summits I attended after becoming PM was the India-Africa Forum Summit in 2015. Even within the G-20, Africa is our top priority.
