A special session of Parliament called from 18 to 22 September

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi had informed on Thursday that a special session of Parliament would be convened from September 18 to 22, after which speculations are rife that during this five-day session, the government will implement 'one nation, one election'. PM Modi is also in favor of 'one country, one election

For the past few years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been pushing for the idea of holding assembly and general elections together, as doing so would reduce the cost of holding elections and also save time. The Centre's decision to hand over the responsibility to Kovind shows the seriousness of the government.

 

Significantly, assembly elections are to be held in five states in November-December. After this, Lok Sabha elections will be held in May-June next year.

 

Government is scared: AAP

On 'One Nation One Election', Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar said the government is scared. They reduced LPG prices by Rs 200 after the first two meetings of the INDIA alliance. Now, they are ready to amend the constitution, but they will still lose the upcoming elections.

 

Congress targeted the center

Congress leader Arif Naseem Khan on the formation of a committee by the Center to explore the possibility of One Nation, One Election, said that it has never happened that a former President has been included in such a committee. There is no room left for democracy in the Modi government.
