Devotees should not bring elderly, children, and disabled people with them to Banke Bihari temple on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. For this, the temple management has issued a guideline for the devotees.

Crowds of devotees will gather on Janmashtami and Nandotsav

There will be a huge crowd of devotees in the temple on Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 7th September and on Nandotsav the next day on 8th September. The temple management issued an advisory regarding this late on Sunday evening. Temple manager Munish Sharma has said that fasting during summer spoils the health of women, hence they should consult a doctor. The management has advised not to bring any kind of bag or valuables to the temple.

Management's warning, Stay alert in the temple

The management has warned that devotees should beware of hooligans and anti-social elements. Pickpockets and mobile thieves are also active inside the temple. Devotees will get entry and exit from the temple through the designated gate only. Shoe houses have been built at all the entry roads for shoes and slippers. Here the devotees will proceed towards the temple only after taking off their shoes and slippers.

Last year, during Mangala Aarti at 2 o'clock in the night on Shri Krishna Janmashtami in Thakur Banke Bihari Temple, two devotees had died due to suffocation due to overcrowding, and the health of many had deteriorated. In such a situation, crowd control is a big challenge this time. The temple manager said that an advisory has been issued given the possibility of a large crowd.
