
Mongla Port Authority and EGIS India Private Limited have signed a contract for Project Management Consultancy Services to upgrade Mongla Port. The contract signing ceremony was held at the Indian Embassy in Bangladesh. Financed under the Indian Line of Credit of US$ 4.5 billion, it is the largest financed project in the extended port sector in Bangladesh, informed the Indian Embassy in Bangladesh.
Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma said during the signing event that Bangladesh is India's biggest development partner and the Mongla Port project will have a transformative impact not only on India-Bangladesh economic ties but also on the economy of the entire sub-region.
