
New Delhi, Jan 12 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee Monday greeted the nation ahead of the festivals of Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal, a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.
In his message, the president said: "On the auspicious occasion of Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal, I extend warm greetings and good wishes to all citizens. May these harvest festivals bind the communities and regions of India in fraternal love and affection.
"May the festivals mark the commencement of an era of abundance, prosperity and new opportunities."
Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal will be celebrated in different parts of the country Jan 13, 14 and 15 respectively.
