ASEAN: 'It is a matter of pride to co-chair the ASEAN-India Summit, PM Modi said ASEAN is a pillar of India's Act-East policy

PM Modi in ASEAN Summit PM Modi today addressed the 43rd ASEAN Summit going on in Jakarta. PM Modi said that last year we celebrated India-ASEAN Friendship Day and transformed it into a comprehensive strategic partnership and today our partnership is entering its fourth decade.

Addressing the ASEAN-India Summit in Jakarta, PM Modi said that ASEAN is a pillar of India's Act East Policy. PM further said,

PM Modi (PM Modi in ASEAN Summit) further said that our history and geography unite India and ASEAN. Our shared values, regional integration, and peace drive our shared development.

PM said that ASEAN also matters because everyone's voice is heard here and ASEAN is the center of development because ASEAN plays an important role in global development.

Indian immigrants raised slogans of Modi-Modi

The PM attended the ASEAN-India Summit on Thursday at the Jakarta Convention Center. PM Modi was received by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on his arrival at the Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia. Before that, the Indian community also gave a grand welcome to the PM. The PM also greeted him.

Please tell that as soon as PM Modi reached the convention center, the Indian expatriates started raising slogans of 'Vande Mataram' and 'Modi-Modi'.
