Protest against Agneepath: Early morning demonstration started in UP-Bihar; Train lit in Samastipur, broken windows of vehicles in Ballia

Even after increasing the age limit by the government in the Agneepath scheme made for recruitment in the army, the demonstration is not taking its name to stop. In Bihar, protesters torched two trains. Railway tracks and roads were blocked in many places. At the same time, the demonstration started in Ballia, UP at 5 am. The windows of many vehicles were broken here. The police have detained a miscreant. Four buses were vandalized and jammed on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Firozabad.

 

Violent demonstration again in Bihar, two trains burnt

 

For the third day in Bihar, the opposition to the Center's Agneepath scheme continues. Violent protests are taking place in 9 districts. Protesters torched two passenger trains in Samastipur. Track jammed in Buxar and Nalanda. The road in Arrah has been jammed after the arson. The protesters are raising slogans against the government.

 

Angry youth said that being recruited for just 4 years is a violation of the right to employment. During this, they also taunted the MLA, and MP and said whether the son of an MLA, MP, and Chief Minister is recruited into the army. There is only the son of a poor farmer in the army. The government is doing injustice to these people. won't tolerate it. The Modi government at the Center is playing with the future of the youth.

 

In Ballia, the protest against the Agneepath scheme started at 5 am. Hundreds of youths first created a ruckus at the railway station, then broke the windows of many vehicles. The police have detained a miscreant. On Thursday, there were fierce demonstrations in 11 districts of UP. Youth vandalized buses in Agra, Aligarh. The youth raised slogans in Bulandshahr. The situation became so uncontrollable that the police had to lathi-charge. Youth protested in Meerut, Deoria, Sitapur as well as Shuklaganj of Unnao.

 

In Firozabad, the rowdy youths took to the streets from seven in the morning regarding Agneepath. On the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, 4 buses were vandalized and jammed. The police, who reached the spot, ran the rioters to open the jam somehow.

 

The government increased the age limit

 

The central government has announced to increase the upper age limit from 21 years to 23 years for recruitment under the Agneepath scheme. However, this exemption will be applicable for this year only. According to the Defense Ministry, this decision has been taken due to no recruitment in the last two years. Earlier the age limit to become Agniveer was 17.5 years to 21 years earlier.

 

This decision was taken on Thursday amid the ongoing protests in many states of the country regarding the Agneepath scheme. These include many states including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Jharkhand.

 

Youth will serve in Defense Force for 4 years

 

The Central Government on June 14 announced the launch of the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme to recruit a large number of youth in the three branches of the Army – Army, Navy, and Air Force. Under this scheme, the youth will have to serve in the Defense Force for only 4 years. The government has taken this step to reduce the budget for salaries and pensions.

Agneepath Scheme is a nationwide short-term youth recruitment scheme for the Armed Forces. The youth recruited under this scheme will be called Agniveer. Agniveers will be deployed in various places including deserts, mountains, land, sea, or air.

In this new scheme, soldiers below the rank of the officer will be recruited. That is, their rank will be as Personnel Below Officer Rank i.e. PBOR. The rank of these soldiers will be different from the commissioned officer and non-commissioned officer appointments in the army now.

 

3. How many times will Agniveer be recruited in a year?

Under this scheme, recruitment will be done twice a year through the rally.

 

4. How many soldiers will be recruited this year?

This year, 46 thousand Agniveers will be recruited, but during this period there will be no army recruitment of this level in all the three parts of the army.

 

5. How old is necessary to become Agniveer?

To become Agniveer, it is necessary to be of 17.5 years to 23 years.

 

6. How much education is required to become Agniveer?

To become Agniveer, it is necessary to have at least a 10th pass.
