Whenever a match is played between India and Pakistan on the cricket field, a war of words often erupts beforehand. While Pakistan has made a U-turn on its decision to boycott the match against India, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla has issued a befitting reply to a fake video spread by a Pakistani news channel regarding the T20 World Cup 2026.
Pakistan TV Shows Fake Video of Rajeev Shukla
In fact, a video of Rajeev Shukla was broadcast during a show hosted by former captain Shoaib Malik on Pakistan's popular news channel ARY News. The video claimed Shukla was reacting to Pakistan's U-turn on the India-Pakistan match.
Surprisingly, this video was edited using AI (Artificial Intelligence) to make it appear as if the BCCI was pleading with Pakistan.
On this issue, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla has clarified that the audio clip attributed to him on a Pakistani TV show regarding the India vs. Pakistan match was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is not his actual statement.
He wrote on Twitter,
The video of my comments on the India-Pakistan World Cup match has been manipulated using AI. These statements are not mine. I urge everyone not to believe this misleading content and report it. - Rajeev Shukla
What was in the fake video?
In the edited video aired by Pakistani media, Rajeev Shukla was heard saying that Pakistan agreed to play after repeated requests from the BCCI.
However, Shukla's original comment was about the ICC's efforts. In his conversation with reporters, he simply stated that he was pleased that the ICC had reached a 'solution' through talks with the Pakistan and Bangladesh Cricket Boards, prioritizing the game, and that Pakistan had withdrawn its boycott decision.
