New Delhi, March 20 (IANS) Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Police chief following a militant attack on a police station in Jammu in which two policemen were killed, official sources here said.
He also asked Home Secretary L.C. Goyal to monitor the situation, the sources said.
Two policemen were killed and 10 others, including seven Central Reserve Police Force personnel, were injured when militants stormed the Rajbagh police station in Kathua district in Jammu region Friday morning.
"The home minister has instructed the home secretary to actively monitor the Kathua situation. The MHA is in touch with agencies of Jammu and Kashmir," a post on the home ministry's twitter handle said.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh, who represents the Udhampur seat of Jammu and Kashmir, said: "Tribute to those who died in Kathua attack. Our neighbour is not rectifying its ways."
