God does not decide punishment for anyone without a crime. There is a fixed policy of God behind the punishment of the one who gets punished. Whoever is the criminal will escape his punishment once. But the law does not leave him. He will get punishment in some incident or the other. In such a situation, there is no fault of yours. You must perform your duty, which you did selflessly.
