Australia beat Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the first T20 to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series. The next match of the series is to be played today i.e. on Wednesday at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. However, even before the start of the second match, there is a big setback for the visiting team. The team's star fast bowler Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of the second T20 match due to injury. Starc suffered an injury to the index finger (index finger) of the bowling arm in the first over of the match played on Tuesday and it started bleeding. However, despite this, he took three wickets for 26 runs while completing his over.

Starc took the wickets of Pathum Nishanka, Wanindu Hasranga, and Dushmanta Chamira during his bowling. Josh Hazlewood said about Mitchell's injury in a conversation with cricket.com.au that it is a shocking injury. He said that while bowling, the index finger of his bowling arm had hit the spike of the shoe and due to this his finger was cut and bleeding started. In the second T20, in place of Starc, now fast bowler Jhye Richardson and spinner Mitchell Swepson can get a chance in Australia's playing XI.
