New Delhi. Congress President Sonia Gandhi has said that the Congress Committee of the state will take up the responsibility of rail fare for the needy workers and migrant laborers. Sonia said that there have been several demands from the central government and the railway ministry that rents for migrant laborers stranded due to lockdown should not be taken to their homes, but the Congress was unheard.
For the first time since the partition of 1947, such a big crisis on the workers: Sonia
Sonia has said that the workers are the backbone of the country's economy, their hard work and sacrifice is the basis of the country. The country has witnessed such a crisis for the first time since the partition of 1947 that thousands of workers were forced to return home after walking hundreds of kilometers. However, they do not even have money, food and medicine.
'Wrong to collect rent from laborers in times of crisis'
Sonia raised the question that when the fare is not taken to bring back the stranded Indians, then why cannot such humility be shown to the migrant laborers? Sonia says that while we can spend 100 crore rupees from the state exchequer on transport and food in a program in Gujarat, the Ministry of Railways can give 151 crore rupees in the Prime Minister's Corona Fund, then why the facility of free rail travel to the migrants Can not give? It is disturbing that the railway is charging fare from the migrants in times of crisis.
