Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had said that he will not contest the next assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav is an MP from the Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat. However, after this statement, party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary denied this and said that whether Akhilesh Yadav will contest the election this time or not, this party will decide now. He did not even contest the last assembly elections.

Azamgarh MP Akhilesh Yadav has said that he is allying with smaller parties. He also said that after the alliance between his party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) for the elections, talks are going on in the final phase on the seats. On the possibility of taking along Chacha Shivpal Yadav's Progressive Samajwadi Party Lohia in the election, said that I have no problem with this. He and his people will be given due respect.

Akhilesh Yadav wants to keep his full attention on the preparations for the assembly elections. Perhaps this is the reason why he has decided not to contest the assembly elections. However, later party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary denied this and said that whether Akhilesh Yadav will contest the elections this time or not, this party will decide now.

According to news agency PTI, Akhilesh Yadav said on Monday that he will not contest next year's Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. He also said that the alliance between his party and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) for the elections has been finalized. He said that our alliance with RLD is final. The seat-sharing is yet to be finalized.

These days SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav is on Samajwadi Vijay Rath Yatra. Their target is mainly the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress. During the public meeting in Hardoi on Sunday, he attacked the BJP and the Congress. He described BJP and Congress as alike. Said that Congress had the habit of conducting ED and CBI investigations and BJP is also following the same path. Said that the BJP claims that they are following the path of Sardar Patel, but today most farmers are unhappy. The income of the farmers could not be doubled, the way the government is running, everyone is getting humiliated, the law and order are destroyed. Responding to the tweet of UP Congress, he said that what will the Congress mirror show.
