The new system implemented: Those who do MBBS will have to adapt the surrounding village, will take oath in the name of Maharishi Charak

In the MBBS course, the Doctor will now take oath in the name of Maharishi Charak instead of the Hippocratic Oath. After a long process, finally, the new medical education system was implemented in the country. With this, the batch of MBBS students from each medical college will now have to adopt a nearby village. There will have to work on health services.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) on Thursday issued a new medical education system order. All medical colleges and universities have been instructed to follow this immediately. The orders will also be applicable for the academic session applicable from February 14 this year. The logic behind the Charak oath is that it will connect medical students to Indian culture. The first year of MBBS will be completed in 12 months

At present, it takes about 14 months to complete MBBS first year in the country, but this year it will be completed in 12 months i.e. one year. Its complete information has been sent to medical colleges and universities along with the order.

The Commission has implemented the new Merit-Based Medical Education (CBME 2021) system for MBBS. It was implemented in 2019 also. However, the commission claims that with the implementation of the new CBME, now the syllabus will be completed on time.

Opportunity for only two supplementary examinations in the entire course duration

MBBS students will get a chance to take the supplementary exam only twice in the entire course duration. This supplementary examination will be conducted between four to six weeks after the release of the result.

The result of the supplementary examination will have to be released within 10 days. Failure in the university examination will not result in a supplementary examination.

Students of the first year who will pass the supplementary examination will have to cover the course in the second year by giving separate duties in the special class and ward.
