The situation of hot seats in Telangana: From former cricketer to former pilot, the reputation of the KCR family is also at stake.

Voting is taking place today for the 119-member Telangana Assembly. More than three crore voters will decide the fate of 2,290 candidates contesting the elections. Although all the seats are special in themselves, but the most discussed are the hot seats of the state. These seats include the seats of the Chief Minister and former cricketers as well as the seats of the Lok Sabha MPs contesting the elections.

 

In such a situation, today we are telling you about the 10 hot seats of the state. Who is the main face on these seats? Why is the seat in discussion? What have been the results of the last three elections here? Let us know everything...

 

1. Gajwel

Gajwel assembly seat falling in Siddipet district is one of the most popular seats in the state. Here the Chief Minister of the state K. Chandrashekhar Rao is the BRS candidate. At the same time, BJP has fielded Etala Rajinder, who was once close to KCR, from this seat. Presently Rajinder is a BJP MLA from the Huzurabad seat. He served as the first Finance Minister of Telangana from 2014 to 2018 and the Health Minister of Telangana from 2019 to 2021. Rajinder left BRS and joined the BJP in 2021.

 

The last election from the Gajwel seat was won by Chief Minister Rao on behalf of BRS. He defeated Vanteru Pratap Reddy of Congress by a margin of 58,290 votes.

 

2. Kamareddy

Apart from Chief Minister KCR Gajwel, he is also contesting from the Kamareddy seat. Here the CM will face Congress candidate A. Revanth Reddy. Reddy is currently the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress unit. Apart from this, he is also a Congress MP from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat. Whereas BJP has nominated the former president of Nizamabad Zilla Parishad K. Ticket has been given to Venkat Raman Reddy.

 

In 2018, the result of Kamareddy's seat came in favor of BRS. Here party candidate Gampa Govardhan defeated Congress's Mohd. Ali Shabbir was defeated by a margin of 4,557 votes.

 

3. Jubilee Hills

Jubilee Hills seat of Hyderabad district is also in the news this time due to the claim of former cricketer Mohammad Mohammad Azharuddin. Azharuddin, who played 99 Test matches and 334 ODI matches, entered politics in 2009. After joining Congress, in 2009 he was elected MP from the Moradabad Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh. Congress had appointed the former cricketer as the President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee in 2018.

 

Azharuddin, originally from Hyderabad, is the Congress candidate from Jubilee Hills this time. The ruling BRS has made sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath its candidate here. Whereas BJP has made Lankala Deepak Reddy its candidate.

 

In 2018, Maganti Gopinath of BRS won from this seat. Gopinath won the election against Congress's P. Vishnuvardhan Reddy by 16,004 votes.

 

4. Chandrayangutta

Chandrayangutta is also included in the hot seats of Telangana. Asaduddin Owaisi's brother Akbaruddin Owaisi is contesting from this seat in the Hyderabad district. Akbaruddin Owaisi is the current MLA of AIMIM from this seat. Even before the formation of Telangana, he had been winning elections from this seat. This time his competition was between BJP's Kodi Mahender and Congress's B. It is from Nagesh.

 

Akbaruddin Owaisi was the winner in the last election. He won the election by defeating BJP candidate Shahzadi Sayyad by a huge margin of 80,263 votes.

 

5. Karimnagar

Karimnagar assembly seat of Karimnagar district, BJP leader B. Sanjay Kumar is in the headlines due to his claim. Sanjay held the post of municipal councilor in Karimnagar from 2005 to 2019. After this, in 2019 he was elected BJP MP from Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat. B. Sanjay Kumar was made the candidate by BJP for the Telangana Assembly elections in 2014 and 2018. He contested elections from Karimnagar seat both times and lost.

 

This time, he is facing competition from Gangula Kamlakar, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies in the KCR cabinet on the Karimnagar seat. Whereas Congress has made Purumalla Srinivas its candidate here. In the last assembly elections, BRS candidate Gangula Kamlakar had won here. Kamlakar did B. Sanjay Kumar was defeated by a margin of 14,974 votes.

 

6. Sirsila

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao's son KT. Rama Rao is the BRS candidate from the Sircilla seat. KTR is the second biggest face in the Telangana government after CM. He holds important ministries like Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Industry and Commerce, and Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications. Apart from this, Sircilla MLA KTR is also the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samiti.

 

In this election, the CM's son will face Congress's K.K. Mahender Reddy and BJP's Rani Rudrama Reddy. Mahender Reddy, a lawyer by profession, is contesting against KTR for the fourth time. Rani Rudrama Reddy, who was a journalist by profession and now holds the responsibility of the party's spokesperson, is the BJP candidate.

 

In 2018, KTR won the seat by a record margin of 89,009 votes against Mahender Reddy of Congress.

 

7. Siddipet

Siddipet seat is also in discussion due to the claim of the KCR family. Here Harish Rao is contesting the elections on BRS ticket. By relationship, Harish Rao seems to be the nephew of Chief Minister KCR. Harish, who is holding the responsibility of important ministries like finance and health in the state government, is counted among the big faces of the cabinet.

 

This time in the assembly battle, Harish Rao is facing BJP's Dudi Srikanth Reddy and Congress's Pujala Harikrishna. Srikanth Reddy is the state general secretary of BJYM, while Pujala Harikrishna is the state spokesperson of Congress.

 

Harish Rao was the winner of the Siddipet seat in the last assembly elections. Harish Rao, contesting on the BRS ticket, defeated Telangana Jana Samithi candidate Bhavani Marikanti by a record margin of 1,18,699 votes.

 

8. Huzurnagar

Uttam Kumar Reddy's name is also among the Lok Sabha MPs to whom Congress has given tickets in Telangana. Uttam Kumar is contesting from the Huzurnagar seat of Suryapet district. Presently Uttam Kumar Reddy is the Congress MP from Nalkonda Lok Sabha seat. Before becoming MP in 2019, Reddy had been MLA from Huzurnagar seat. Uttam, who was a pilot in the Indian Air Force, is once again a Congress candidate. He is contesting against BRS's Shanampudi Saidi Reddy and BJP's Srilatha Reddy. Saidi Reddy is the current BRS MLA from the Huzurnagar seat. Srilatha Reddy, who is contesting the elections from BJP, has been Nareducharla City Vice President and had left BRS and joined BJP only last month.

 

Congress's Uttam Kumar Reddy was the winner in the 2018 assembly elections. Uttam defeated BRS's Shanampudi Saidi Reddy by 7,466 votes.

 

9. Goshamahal

Goshamahal seat of Hyderabad district is also in discussion in Telangana elections. BJP has made its MLA T. Raja Singh its candidate here. Raja came into controversy in August 2022, when he made objectionable remarks about Prophet Muhammad. After this controversy, he was suspended by the BJP. His suspension was canceled on 22 October 2023, just before the assembly elections.

 

Raja Singh, former whip of Telangana BJP, is once again contesting from Goshamahal seat. BRS has fielded Nand Kishore Vyas, son of former MLA Madan Lal Vyas, as its candidate. Nand Kishore is a real estate developer and builder as well as a social worker. Congress has given a ticket to Telangana Mahila Congress President Mogili Sunita for this seat.

 

BJP had won here in the last assembly elections, which was also the only seat to go to BJP's account. Here, the winner T. Raja Singh on the BJP ticket defeated Prem Singh Rathod of BRS by 17,734 votes.

 

10. Malkajgiri

M. Hanumantha Rao's claim on the Malkajgiri assembly seat in the 2023 assembly elections has made it interesting. In August, BRS released the list, in which the name of Hanumanth Rao's son Rohit was not there. Malkajgiri MLA Hanumantha Rao wanted a ticket for his son from Medak's seat. However, after not getting the ticket, he left BRS and joined Congress. Hanumant Rao is now contesting on a Congress ticket.

 

BRS has given a ticket to Mary Rajasekhara Reddy, son-in-law of Malla Reddy, a minister in the KCR cabinet here. At the same time, the BJP has made lawyer Naraparaju Ramachander Rao its candidate. Former MLC Ramachander Rao is a member of the BJP National Executive, President of the Hyderabad unit of the BJP, and a member of the Bar Council of India.

 

Hanumantha Rao won the 2018 assembly elections on BRS ticket. He defeated BJP's Ramchander Rao by 73,698 votes.
