The Taliban may have claimed victory by capturing a large part of Afghanistan, but the war is not over yet. One faction is still fighting relentlessly against the Taliban.

Amarulla Saleh

Amarullah Saleh's name comes first in the fight against the Taliban. He was the First Vice President (FPV) of Afghanistan and has declared himself the acting President of the country under the constitution after President Ashraf Ghani left the country. Saleh, who has been fighting the Taliban for the past two and a half decades, has said that he stands with the people of Afghanistan and that the war is not over yet.

Ahmed Masood

Panjshir is the only province in Afghanistan that has not been captured by the Taliban so far. Here the name of Ahmed Masood of the Northern Alliance is the most important among those who took on the Taliban. Recently, the picture of his meeting with Saleh had surfaced. Ahmed Masood's father Ahmed Shah Masood was considered one of the most powerful figures in Afghanistan. He was assassinated in 2001 by Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Now Ahmed Masood is struggling to stop the Taliban at any cost.

Ata Muhammad Noor

Jamaat-e-Islami chief and former governor of Balkh province, Ata Muhammad Noor, is also among those taking the lead against the Taliban. When the Taliban took power in Afghanistan in 1996, he, along with Ahmed Shah Masood, formed a united front against the Taliban. Right now, since the Taliban's occupation of Balkh province, it is believed that they have moved into the territory of Tajikistan.

Abdul Rashid Dostum

Abdul Rashid Dostum, 67, has also been the Vice President of Afghanistan. Dostum was instrumental in helping the US military topple the Taliban government in Afghanistan in 2001. Dostum dominates the northern regions of Afghanistan. It is being told that he is currently in Uzbekistan.

seven faces of terror

1. Haibatullah Akhundzada, Supreme Commander

Haibatullah Akhundzada, born in 1961, has become the third Supreme Commander of the Taliban. This is the highest rank of this terrorist organization. He has not appeared in public since becoming the Supreme Commander.

2. Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Commander

Abdul Ghani Baradar remains the main face of the Taliban at this time. It is believed that he will be the head of the Taliban government to be formed in Afghanistan. He was arrested in 2010 in a joint operation by intelligence agencies of the US and Pakistan. In 2018 during peace talks with the Donald Trump administration, he was released due to the efforts of the US Special Ambassador to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad.

3. Sirajuddin Haqqani

Sirajuddin Haqqani, the head of the Haqqani Network, a terrorist organization declared by the US, is the third most important post in the Taliban. He is believed to have handled the organization's financial and military affairs in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

4. Muhammad Yacob

Muhammad Yacoub is the son of Taliban founder Mullah Omar. Very little information about him is publicly available. It is being told that he handles the military activities of the organization in collaboration with Haqqani.

5. Abdul Hakim Haqqani

It is considered very close to Haibatullah Akhundzada. It played an important role in peace talks with the previous US government. He is also the head of a council of religious people in Afghanistan.

6. Sher Muhammad Abbas

Unlike other prominent people of the terrorist organization, Sher Muhammad Abbas speaks very good English. The last time the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, he went on a tour of several countries as a deputy foreign minister.

7. Zabihullah Mujahid

Zabihullah recently addressed the Taliban's first press conference in Kabul. It is believed that he will play an important role in presenting the terrorist organization in front of the world. For the last 20 years, he has been talking to the media through bus messages. He appeared for the first time on 17 August.
