Hyderabad, April 8 (IANS) Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao will contest the Lok Sabha election from Medak while his daughter Kavitha is the party candidate from Nizamabad parliamentary constituency.
The TRS Tuesday announced third list of candidates for both Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Telangana. It announced candidates for eight Lok Sabha seats and 28 assembly seats.
KCR, as Rao is popularly known, will contest both the assembly and Lok Sabha polls. He has already announced his candidature from Gajwel, one of the assembly segments of Medak Lok Sabha constituency.
The TRS chief was elected to Lok Sabha from Mahabubnagar in 2009 and from Karimnagar in 2004 elections.
Brushing aside the criticism that he is promoting his own family in the party, KCR has fielded his daughter Kavitha from Nizamabad. She heads Telangana Jagruthi, a Telangana cultural outfit.
KCR's son K. Tarakarama Rao is seeking re-election from Sircilla assembly constituency while his nephew Harish Rao is contesting again from Siddipet.
The TRS has fielded student leader B. Suman from Peddapalle Lok Sabha constituency. IT has named Rasheed Shareef from Hyderabad and Budhan Baig Sheikh from Khammam.
With the third list, the party has announced candidates for all 17 Lok Sabha seats and 96 out of 119 assembly seats.
The simultaneous polls in Telangana are scheduled April 30.
The region comprising 10 districts including Hyderabad is set to get separate statehood June 2.
