On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan 2022, all women traveling in Haryana Roadways buses will once again be provided a free travel facility for two days this year also. This has been announced by the Haryana government by tweeting on Friday.
A tweet from Haryana CMO said, "Giving the gift of Raksha Bandhan to women, Haryana Government has decided to provide free travel facility in Haryana Transport buses this year also. The facility of free travel will start from noon on 10th August 2022 till 12 midnight on the day of Raksha Bandhan on 11th August 2022.
State Transport Minister Moolchand Sharma said on Friday that women will be able to travel free of cost in state transport buses on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan next month. This year the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on the 11th of August.
The Minister said that women and children up to the age of 15 years would be able to travel free of cost in all 'ordinary' buses of Haryana Roadways from noon on August 10 to August 11.
Sharma said that on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the facility of free travel in buses was being provided for the last several years, but it had to be discontinued during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that the situation arising out of the pandemic has now improved, due to which it has been decided to restore this facility.
