New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS) A forensic expert Friday told a court here that the fingerprints of the women executive allegedly raped by the Uber cab driver matched with the fingerprints obtained from the vehicle in which she was attacked.

Senior scientific officer in the Central Forensic Science Laboratory Harender Prasad told Additional Sessions Judge Kaveri Baweja that a few fingerprints were found in the car, inside which the woman was allegedly raped.

Testifying as a prosecution witness in the case, he told the court that the discovered prints matched with the fingerprints of the woman allegedly raped by Uber taxi driver Shiv Kumar Yadav.

Prasad denied the suggestion by defence counsel that he prepared the report under the instructions of police.

Meanwhile, police also filed documents related to the palm prints obtained from the car and the prints of the accused and the victim.

The court recorded the statement of two other officials of the forensic lab, a doctor who examined the taxi driver and four police officials.

Hindu Rao Hospital's doctor Alok Kumar told the court that he found multiple abrasions on the face of the accused when he was brought to him Dec 8.

Yadav, 32, was arrested jointly by Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Police Dec 7 from his hideout in Mathura.

Sub-Inspector Devender said he did not ask any public person to join them while arresting the accused in Mathura, fearing something untoward might happen as the accused was a local resident.

The court also recorded the statement of head constable who attended the woman's call at the Police Control Room.

The trial will continue Saturday and the court will likely record the statement of two police officials.

Yadav allegedly raped the woman executive in the car she hired to head back home in north Delhi's Inderlok area Dec 5 night.

The court last week framed charges of rape and causing grievous bodily harm or endangering the life of a woman, kidnapping a woman, criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt under various sections of the Indian Penal Code against Yadav.

The trial is being conducted on a day-to-day basis.
