The matter will be heard on December 8. Apart from former CM Uddhav Thackeray, his wife Rashmi Thackeray and Aditya Thackeray are also named in the petition. The petitioner has demanded a CBI and ED inquiry against all three.

What is the allegation against the Thackeray family?

The petition by Mumbai resident Gauri Bhide alleges that the Shiv Sena supremo and his sons Aditya and Rashmi never disclosed any particular service, profession, or business as their official source of income, and yet they owned properties in Mumbai, Raigad The district has assets that can be in billions. The petition further alleged that Thackeray had collected the money illegally. The raids on his associates by the central investigative agencies make it clear that somewhere he has a case of disproportionate assets.

The court recused itself from the case

Earlier, during the hearing, in this case, the Bombay High Court had recused itself from the case. The bench had said that the matter would be placed before another appropriate bench.
