IRIS-T SLM can hit up to 19 km in the air
This modern air defense system costing 1.18 thousand crores of Germany has not yet been included in the Berlin army. It was successfully tested in the year 2014. This defense system is effective up to a distance of 40 km and can strike in the air up to 19 km. It has been specially developed to protect largely populated areas from aircraft, missiles, rockets, and drone attacks.
Germany was being criticized
Germany promised to hand over the air defense system to Ukraine in June this year. Despite the promise during the war, Germany was facing criticism for taking a long time to provide the defense system to Ukraine. Germany was supposed to hand over the IRIS-T SLM to Ukraine by November, but it was handed over to Ukraine only this month after Russia's vigorous attacks on Ukrainian cities.
The defense system reached Ukraine after the approval of Egypt
Along with this defense system, Germany has also sent a mobile launcher and 360-degree radar to Ukraine. Germany was developing this air defense system for Egypt. After approval from Cairo, it was delivered to Ukraine. The weapons were delivered to Ukraine via Poland.
NATO will help Ukraine
NATO has promised to help Ukraine. NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg said – will not back down with the help of Ukraine. The G-7 countries have also spoken of standing with Ukraine.
