Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday pressed the button and transferred Rs 1200 for shoe stocking, school uniform, sweater, school bag, pen, pencil, copy, rubber, and cutter for 1.91 crore students to their parents' accounts.
In a program organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, he honored the headmasters and village heads of the schools with the highest cleanliness with the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar. Kayakalp Divyanjali Portal was also unveiled at the event.
In his address on the occasion, Chief Minister Yogi said that by transferring money from DBT to the children of 1.91 crore council schools, the campaign to connect the children with education started. School Chalo's campaign has yielded good results. The success of the campaign has resulted in 1.91 crore nominations. Our life has been affected due to Corona. Our basic education has also been most affected by Corona. During this, the government made efforts to arrange education online and Doordarshan.
Chief Minister Yogi said that before 2017 the condition of schools was not good. Somewhere in the schools, there were teachers and there were no students. There were no buildings anywhere. There were big trees in the school building, the school building looked like a park. Parents did not want to send their children to school but now basic education has been made a symbol of faith. The number of students has increased from 1.34 crore to 1.91 crores in five years. Earlier 60 percent of the students had to go to school barefoot, but now those children are also going to the council school established along the lines of convent school.
He said that teachers have a big responsibility. After parents, children have the most communication with the teacher. Teachers are the carriers of the responsibility for the basic education of children. Today is the time of technology. There has to be an emotional connection with technology. Don't shy away from technology. Technology will pave the way for the child to move forward, but compassion will inspire the child to join the nation.
