The outbreak of the second wave of the Coronavirus continues in the country. Efforts are being made to speed up the Covid vaccination campaign to put a brake on the pace of corona infection, but the shortage of the vaccine is hindering it. The central government hopes that the availability of the corona vaccine will increase from next month. The government estimates that the vaccine shortage for people between 18 and 44 years will be removed by July, after which the entire adult population (about 94 crores) is targeted to be vaccinated by December.
The central government has estimated that between August and December, 200 million vaccine doses will be available across the country, which will enable rapid immunization of people in the age group of 18 to 44 years. At the same time, the government said that by the end of this year, all people above the age of 18 years will be vaccinated.
15 lakh doses per day till now
On January 16, the country's largest vaccination campaign was launched in the country to start the war against Corona. Today, four months i.e. 120 days are being completed on Saturday, the vaccination campaign going on from 16 January. In these 120 days, so far 18 million vaccine doses have been made in India. Talking about the average, India has so far injected 1.5 million vaccine doses in a single day.
Although the vaccination rate has been sluggish in the last four months, still an average of 1.5 million doses of vaccine have been applied in a day. Now once again the speed of vaccine has been seen. In the past week, an average of 17 lakh vaccines has been injected in the country on a single day. The government estimates that the vaccine supply will increase by the end of July.
Five times more vaccine to be applied daily
According to an English newspaper, the estimated adult population in the country is around 94 crores, and to vaccinate this population, 188 crore vaccine doses will be required. To apply the vaccine to the adult population, 170 million doses will be required in the remaining 231 days of the year. That is, if seven days of the week are added, then every day about 73.6 lakh doses will have to be applied. In this way, according to the average speed of vaccination now, about five times more vaccine doses will have to be applied daily.
Vaccination: India will break its record
90 lakh doses will be applied every day in the country. So far no country has put half its dose in a single day. India holds the record for the highest number of doses in a single day, which is made on April 5, when 41.6 lakh doses were put in one day. The challenge is not just to supply, for this, the number of immunization centers and manpower will also have to increase manifold.
