The Indian team has lost in the final of the ICC World Test Championship. Australia defeated him by 209 runs in the match played at England's Oval Ground. Team India's hopes were on Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane on the fifth day of the match on Sunday (June 11). The defeat of the Indian team was almost decided as soon as Kohli was dismissed with a personal score of 49 runs. After this, the Kangaroo bowlers did not delay in ending the match.

Virat is being criticized for the way he got out in the second innings of the match. He tried to play Scott Boland's outside ball toward cover and the ball hit the bat and went to Steve Smith standing at second slip. Boland's ball was far outside the off stump. Virat could have left this ball, but he decided to drive and it turned out to be too heavy.

Was out for 49 runs in 2018 as well

The ball going off stump has been a problem for Kohli over the years. Virat is unable to leave such a ball. He falls into the trap of the opposition team. How Kohli got out at The Oval reminded fans of the match five years ago. Virat was dismissed for the same number of runs (49) on this ground.

Ben Stokes was out

The Indian team went on a tour of England in 2018. The fifth and last match of the five-match series was played at The Oval. Virat got out after scoring 49 runs in the first innings. Then he was sitting with the bat on the ball going out of Ben Stokes. At that time also he was caught in the second slip. Then Kohli's catch was taken by Root. It has been five years since this incident, but Kohli could not learn from his mistake.

Gavaskar criticized Kohli's shot

This shot of Virat Kohli was criticized by former captain and great batsman Sunil Gavaskar after the match. He said, “It was a bad shot. It should be asked to Kohli, not me, why he played that shot as the ball was well outside off-stump. Virat was continuously leaving the ball off the stump. He might have felt that one run was needed to complete the half-century. This is what happens when you are close to a record or achievement.

Gavaskar further said, “It was a bad shot. Kohli must be asked about this. He says that to win the match, long innings or a century is required. How do you play long innings when you play the ball going outside the stumps?
