The map, shared on Wednesday, inaccurately depicted international boundaries. As soon as the post surfaced, social media users raised strong objections, labeling it as factually incorrect. Amidst growing outrage, the airline promptly removed the post.

The Airline’s Statement

Issuing an official statement on the social media platform X, Nepal Airlines stated: “We sincerely apologize for the error contained in the network map shared on our social media channels.” The statement acknowledged that the map contained serious inaccuracies regarding international boundaries, which do not reflect the official stance of either Nepal or the airline. The airline further noted that, alongside removing the post, an internal review has been initiated to ensure that such errors are not repeated in the future.

Impact on India-Nepal Relations?

In its statement, the airline also emphasized that it values strong relations with all neighboring countries in the region and expressed regret if the incident had inadvertently hurt anyone’s sentiments.
