Weather Update: Change in weather in North India due to western disturbances, the possibility of a heatwave and severe heat in these states

In the coming days in North India, people are expected to get relief from the heatwave. The weather is changing due to western disturbances. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, heatwave conditions are likely to persist in different parts of Northwest India in the coming few days. According to IMD, there is a possibility of a heatwave in different places in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi till April 16. There is a possibility of a more severe heatwave in these areas on April 17 and 18. There is a possibility of rain at some places in Himachal Pradesh on Friday. Sun will bloom on April 16 and 17, while the Western Disturbance will be active again from April 18. Chance of rain in the state from April 19 to 21. With this, along with getting relief from the heat, some relief is also expected from the drought. There is a possibility of a heatwave in isolated parts of East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Delhi.

 

This time the heat will hurt a lot, the record will be broken

 

This time the heat has been at its peak since the beginning of April. The mercury has reached a temperature of more than 40 degrees Celsius, while there are 16 days left in April. The mercury is just four degrees away from April's record. Meteorologists have predicted more heat this year. Due to this, the record of severe heat in April may also be broken this time. April 22, 2010, is the day on record as the hottest day of April. The maximum temperature on that day was 45 degrees Celsius. Last time there were five days above 40 degrees in April, this time was estimated to be more than 10.

According to the information released by the Meteorological Department, some areas of North Delhi, North-West Delhi, West Delhi, South-West Delhi, and adjoining areas Karnal, Rajound, Assandh, Safidon, Panipat, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Rewari, Nuh (Haryana) ) Wind speed reaching 30-40 km/h in Najibabad, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor (UP).

 

Heavy rain likely in these states

 

According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain with heavy to very heavy rain may occur over parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya today. Light to moderate rain may occur over the rest of Northeast India, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, South Karnataka, and Lakshadweep. The moderate rain may occur in isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Ladakh. On the other hand, isolated light rain is possible over Chhattisgarh, South Odisha, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and South Madhya Maharashtra.

 

Monsoon likely to be normal in India for the fourth consecutive year

 

According to the Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon is likely to remain normal for the fourth consecutive year in the country with the forecast of favorable 'La Nina' conditions during the June-September period this year. The country had also received normal rainfall during the four-month southwest monsoon season in 2019, 2020, and 2021. According to the IMD, this year the southwest monsoon is expected to receive 96 to 104 percent rainfall as against the long period average (LPA) of 87 cm for the period 1971-2020. The department said that from a quantitative point of view, the monsoon rainfall from June to September is likely to be 99 percent of the LPA, with the possibility of fluctuating five percent.
